Baby Nursery Makeover

I am so excited to share this next room makeover with you! The moment we found out baby #3 was a girl I was immediately inspired to create her nursery!

We moved into our new home when I was about 6 months pregnant and because she slept in our room for the first few months we didn’t rush to finish her room right away. This room was a darker beige color and really was not one of the worst looking rooms in the house.

But, I love gray walls with white trim and my whole house is pretty much painted the same color because you can change out the decor easily in a room anytime you want if the walls are a good neutral color! I knew I wanted to do gray and blush pink in her room. I have always loved blush pink and pairing it with the perfect gray is always so beautiful!

We painted the walls gray and it made such a difference already! The gray was the perfect shade with all that sunlight coming in from that nice big window!Next I went on a search for the perfect curtains! I wanted the color as close to a very blush pink as I could possibly find. I didn’t want pig pink and I certainly didn’t want hot pink. I shopped many stores online trying to find the perfect color, but it can be so hard to trust the color of something online. So I set out on a journey in store and, as usual, started with Target! I should not have been surprised that I found the curtains of my dreams at Target because Target never fails! I have preached this in previous blog posts and I will forever preach it!

I found blush pink curtains that come in a set of 2 panels for only $30! That, my friends, is a great price for great curtains! They hang on a rod by the circle rings which I think makes for a better quality curtain! They are thick, lay nicely and come in other colors as well! Definitely check them out! Curtains can be so expensive and to find these in a 2 pack was a great find!I love how these curtains look with the gray walls! If perfect curtains exist, then these are definitely them! You can shop these curtains at Target in store or online by clicking on the photo above!

The next addition to the room was a rocking chair or glider. I definitely wanted a glider with gray cushions, but getting a nice one is not always cheap! I was about to give up on my dream glider when I found this one on Amazon! I was slightly hesitant because quality can be a hit or miss on Amazon for items like this, but I took the chance and it is perfect! We have been using it for almost a year now and it is still in fantastic shape! The best part is that you can get it on Amazon with prime shipping for only $129! It also comes in some other styles, colors and even chevron patterns! It really is a great glider and has tons of life left in it still! Very happy with this purchase and it ended up being the perfect gray as well! You can shop this glider on Amazon by clicking on the photo above!

Another major piece in a nursery is a changing table! I found that we barely used a changing table with my other 2 kids, but I definitely wanted to have the option without breaking the bank! I decided to turn a dresser into a changing table so that it could grow with her and just be a dresser in the future! We had this old dresser that we got for cheap and I had my talented mother-in-law re-purpose it! It turned out absolutely beautiful and it works perfectly for a changing table! The dresser was re-purposed with Pure White by Annie Sloan Chalk paint and sealed with a clear Annie Sloan wax. I finished off the dresser with some girly handles from Hobby Lobby that added some extra sparkle to it! As usual, I waited until Hobby Lobby had their handles 50% off and I snagged these for a killer deal! I am obsessed with this piece and it works great for a dresser/changing table now and will serve it’s purpose well as she grows through the years!I wanted to point out an extra favorite of mine on top of the dresser, which I also highly recommend! The heathered gray diaper caddy by JJ Cole is a game changer! It holds her diapers, has a perfect spot that a wipe pack fits into, has a little drawer that holds all her hair bows and even comes with a diaper changing pad so you could use it on the go! I think it would be a great item to keep in your car for any emergency baby needs! I got this diaper caddy on Amazon when it was on sale for $10, but you can get it now on Amazon for $27! Check it out in gray or navy by clicking on the image below!Another item on the changing table is the changing pad and cover! The changing pad is Summer infant brand and we got it on Amazon for $17.99. You can check it out HERE!

I think, though, the more fun part about a changing pad is the cover! Unfortunately it is not in the photo because it is playing the roll that most changing pad covers play and that is being attacked by non-stop blow outs and living most of it’s time in the laundry! I definitely spent more on the cover then I normally would on anything, but I wanted to start incorporating a bunny theme in her room and this bunny cover was absolutely dreamy! I also found it on Amazon and it was certainly love at first sight! It is so sweet and I just couldn’t resist! I am ashamed to say I spent $29.99 on this changing pad cover, which may have something to do with why I am so determined and obsessed to keep it clean, which isn’t working out well so far! You can check it out for yourself and maybe get lucky and find it on sale by going HERE!

I simply cannot move on from this area of the room without pointing out the beautiful wall decor above the dresser. My sweet Aunt had this made for my daughter and it couldn’t have been more perfect! My daughter is named, Lyric, after my mom who passed away from cancer and she was a lover of music! To say I cried when I opened this precious gift is an understatement! Such a special piece hung in a room for a very special little girl.I should probably talk to you about the most important part of a baby’s room! The crib! This is something that is so hard to make a final decision on! We did not keep the cribs from the other kids so we were on the market to buy a new one! I knew I wanted it to be white, but I also knew I didn’t want to spend a ton on it! Of course, there are so many gorgeous cribs out there for hundreds of dollars, but I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much! I started searching Amazon for one (can you tell yet that I love Amazon and buy my whole life on there?) and came across this very simple styled crib and I loved it! It was very easy to put together and I just love the simplicity of it! Best part is that it is only $109 with prime shipping! We got the crib in white, but you an also get it in ebony or espresso! We are very happy with this purchase and truly the quality is great for the price! It serves it’s purpose and it fits the room perfectly! You can check out more about this crib by clicking the photo above!

I want to sing the praises of the photo hung above her crib. Not only does it pull the whole room together, but it is a very special photo as well. Our sweet girl is our rainbow baby! She came after 2 miscarriages and she truly is our little miracle baby! I had this rainbow baby themed photo taken by Pamela Fallon Photography and I had it framed at Hobby Lobby in a frame that was owned by my mom. It turned out absolutely beautiful and I was so impressed with Hobby Lobby’s affordable framing work! I cannot help but smile every time I see this not only because it reminds me of my sweet mom, but also it reminds me of the journey we walked that lead us to our beautiful Lyric Faye.

The rest of the room was pulled together by Hobby Lobby wall decor and I even found a local woman who created the adorable bunny decor that is pictured in one of the photos above! I just couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out! I love how sweet and simple it is and it will all be so easy to change as she grows up!So here it is! The before and after of this room! I cannot believe the change between what this room once was with the previous owner of our house! What a difference a coat of paint even makes!

I hope this inspired you if you are getting ready to create a space for your little one! I definitely accomplished this room on a very low-budget with a few splurges, of course! Thanks for checking out my nursery makeover!

Have a beautiful day and happy creating!

What a beautiful nursery! I am in love with grey. I definitely think when I am able to have a nursery it will look similar to this. Grey and white are so peaceful.

This is so adorable!! I feel like I completely missed out when it comes to decorating a nursery. We were living in a suuuuper small 2 bedroom apartment when I found out I was pregnant (literally signed the lease the day before haha) and I used the second bedroom as a home office….a very small one. So our daughters nursery was also a storage room and office space lol I was so upset! Hopefully baby #2 will get a better room haha
